The Good Sport is currently taking orders for the new Sailfish Swim Team Suits. For girls, this year's black and green team suit is the Speedo TONE SETTER SPLICE FLYBACK. Boys will be wearing the Speedo SPARK SPLICE JAMMER.
Swimmers are also required to have their own short swim training fins, also available at The Good Sport.
In terms of suit sizing, here is some advice from Sailfish:
You do not want to buy swimming suits for "kids to grow into."
Suits should fit snuggly.
Bathing suits wear out quicker if they are too large and act as a drag, so the kids have a more challenging time competing.
When checking the size of girls' suits, if you can pull the straps above or to their ears, please try a smaller size.
Swimmers may wear team suits from past years long as they are not stretched out and still fit properly.
If in doubt, have your swimmer wear their suit before practice and ask Coach Barb or Coach Julie to evaluate the fit.
The Sailfish Swim Team is a recreational/competitive swim team training out of the Scituate Racquet and Fitness Club in Scituate, MA. Swimmers on the team range in age from 7-18 years.
Here is a quote from the organization's website, "Although we like to win, we feel it is more important to help our swimmers learn 'life lessons' and develop positive character traits while they are learning to compete to their fullest potential."
